Use cases
QR codes for flyers and posters
For a flyer, print the QR code at least 2 to 3 inches wide. For a poster read from across a room, print it 6 inches or larger. Put a short call to action next to it, such as Scan to sign up, and point it at a mobile-friendly page. A static code from Forever QR is free and won't stop working after the event.
Free, no signup. Made in your browser and never expires.
How to make one
- Make sure the page it opens works well on a phone.
- Make a link code and add a caption with a clear action.
- Size it for the viewing distance, and download PDF or SVG for print.
- Print one copy and scan it from the expected distance before printing the run.
Placement
- Lower right or bottom center, where eyes finish reading.
- On a flat area, away from folds and staples.
- At a comfortable height for posters, roughly eye level.
Measure scans without a subscription
Add campaign tags to the link, such as example.com/signup?utm_source=flyer&utm_campaign=fall, and read the visits in your website analytics. You get the numbers without routing scans through a QR company.
Forms and sign-ups
Pointing a code at a form is one of the most common uses. Use the form's permanent share link, and test it in a private browser window to make sure it doesn't ask people to sign in.
