Free QR code generator with logo
You can put a logo in the middle of a QR code because QR codes carry backup data. At error correction level H, about 30% of the code can be covered and still read. Forever QR switches to level H automatically when you add a logo, keeps the logo to about a quarter of the code's width, clears the modules behind it, and scan tests the result before you download. It's free.
Free, no signup. Made in your browser and never expires.
How to make one
- Make your code in Forever QR, then open Center.
- Choose Logo and upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, or choose Symbol to pick from about 70 built-in icons.
- Pick a badge shape and adjust the size. The slider stops at the largest size that tested reliably.
- Download once you see Scans perfectly.
Why logos don't break a well-made code
QR codes use Reed-Solomon error correction at four levels: L recovers about 7% of the data, M about 15%, Q about 25% and H about 30%. A logo covers part of the pattern, and error correction fills in what's hidden. Covering too much, or covering the three corner squares, breaks the code, which is why Forever QR sizes and places the logo for you.
Make it scan every time
- Keep strong contrast: dark code on a light background.
- Use your symbol on its own, without the words. Text is too small to read in the middle of a code.
- Use a simple, bold logo. Fine detail disappears at small sizes.
- Don't worry about blank space around the logo. Forever QR trims it so the logo fills the center.
- Print a little larger than you would without a logo.
Questions
- Is adding a logo free?
- Yes. Logos, symbols, colors, shapes and frames are all free in Forever QR.
- Does a logo make the code less reliable?
- It uses some of the code's backup capacity. Forever QR limits the size and tests every code, but print a little larger to keep a safety margin.
- Why does my logo look small or have white around it?
- Your file probably includes the words under your symbol, or a white background. Upload the symbol by itself. Forever QR trims blank space automatically, so the symbol fills the center.
- Where is my logo uploaded?
- Nowhere. Your logo stays in your browser.
