QR codes for restaurant menus
Point a static QR code at your menu's web address and print it on table cards. It's free and never expires. To change the menu without reprinting, keep the address the same and update the page or PDF behind it. Print table codes at least 1.5 to 2 inches wide with a call to action such as Scan for menu.
Free, no signup. Made in your browser and never expires.
How to make one
- Put your menu at an address that won't change, like
yourrestaurant.com/menu. - Make a link code for that address in Forever QR and add a frame that says Scan for menu.
- Download a PDF, or use the free table tent sheet, and print.
- Scan a printed copy at the table before you print the full run.
Update the menu without reprinting
The code holds the address, not the menu. Replace the PDF or edit the page at the same address and every printed code shows the new menu. Avoid file-sharing links that change when you upload a new file.
Placement and size
- Table cards and tents: 1.5 to 2 inches wide.
- Window or entrance signs read from a few feet away: 4 inches or more.
- Keep the code flat and out of glare from overhead lights.
Add Wi-Fi for guests
A second code on the same card can connect guests to your guest network. See the Wi-Fi QR code generator.
Questions
- Do menu QR codes expire?
- Not static ones. Codes from subscription services can stop working when the plan ends.
- Can each table have its own code?
- Yes. Use bulk generation with one row per table, for example with ?table=12 at the end of the link.
